The Service Collaborative

The programs of The Service Collaborative focus on three focus areas that make an impact everyday: Education, Environmental Justice, and Workforce Development. We give individuals the opportunity to team up with a community partner to make change happen in Buffalo and WNY.

When someone commits to a year long term of national service, the thought of all of the work stretched out in front of them can be daunting. A year spent serving your community, whether it be through constructing new green infrastructure in Buffalo's East Side, acting as support in early childhood classrooms, aiding a local nonprofit in whatever way they need to support their mission, or even an individual working to better themselves (and therefore uplift their community) by acquiring the skills to maintain a family sustaining career.

Signing up for a volunteer year can also come with financial hardship. We maintain a Member Support Fund that allows our members in service to focus on and complete their terms of service rather than focusing on financial concerns. We've assisted members with issues from purchasing groceries to assisting with rent. Our ultimate goal is to see our members through a successful term of service in their community!
