The Boston Foundation
Colin’s Joy Project was formed by the McGrath family in 2018 after the death of 2-year-old Colin McGrath. Colin’s life was full of love and laughter, and he lived every minute to the fullest.
The mission of Colin's Joy Project is to enhance play spaces and sponsor children and family programming in the South Boston and surrounding communities. Colin's Joy Project has several active play space projects in development in South Boston inspired by Colin's Creativity Squad, an initiative that engages children in the community to design their own exciting, creative play spaces.
Knowing that longitudinal relationships were key to building Colin’s legacy, the McGrath family and Colin's Joy Project formed multiple partnerships with community-based non-profit organizations that support children and family programming. Since 2019, Colin’s Joy Project has donated over $1.2M through these partnerships, fulfilling their mission to bring joy to families the way Colin brought joy to all who knew him.
A donation to Colin’s Joy Project will support these long-lasting partnerships and future play space projects. Learn more about our work on our website, www.colinsjoyproject.org, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@colinsjoyproject) for updates!
We are one of the nation's oldest and largest community foundations. More than that, we are a center of overlapping partnerships and networks—of talented, generous, thoughtful and dedicated people—working together to make life better for everyone in our region.
